Robb Scott, musician, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and producer. Born in London and with a music career that spans several decades, he has carved out a niche for himself as a versatile and eclectic artist who has recorded and released music both as a solo artist, in various bands and as a composer for films, documentaries, promos and commercials.
His solo projects have included working with music artists Sandra St Victor, Ellen McIlwaine, Jill Jones, The Waters and Roy Ayers Band as well as television and video appearances with Daryl Hall and Gwen McCrae. His second album Afro Odyssey on the Sunshine Enterprises label, garnered a 4/5 star rating in Blues & Soul Magazine.
In Spring 2018, Robb released his award winning album 'Siren’ on the prestigious Expansion Record Label, that went straight into the UK Soul Chart at No.7. The album, dedicated in its entirety to the late Teena Marie, was created with both featured and guest artists that included: Sandra St Victor, Julia and Maxine Waters, Marlo Henderson, Elisabeth Troy, Juliet Roberts, Sylvia Mason James, Gina Foster, Austin Howard, Jay Rodriguez, Francesco Mendolia, Noel Langley, Yolanda Charles, Ashley Slater, Mary Edwards and many more...
Siren includes the singles ‘Neptune Atmosphere (You Didn’t Feel My Love)’, ‘Keep On’, ‘Winter Love’ and ‘Negative Pleasures’.
In 2019, Robb wrote and scored the music for Claire Lawrie’s Iris Prize Award winning documentary
‘Beyond: There’s Always a Black Issue, Dear’.
Siren is available on CD here at our online store, and also for digital download on itunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and all major online outlets.
In 2020 Robb co-wrote, produced, arranged and performed the critically acclaimed 'You Don't Know' single for Shaila Prospere's 'Under My Skin' album.
Robb is currently in the studio finishing work on his latest album project. It will include the stunning single 'Gotta Get Over You’, a tour de force of a collaboration with friend and fellow co-writer, Leee John from Imagination that garnered a 10/10 in Blues & Soul Magazine and the forthcoming new single ‘High Life’ feat. Ivy Chanel. It features a full live rhythm section along with the live strings, horns, flutes and vocal arrangements, the kind that are so evocative of the Californian R & B Soul sound once brought to us by the likes of Leon Ware, The Mizell Brothers, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Patrice Rushen and arrangers Clare Fischer and Paul Riser.
Robb’s style is characterised by its warmth, richness, and musical sophistication. He seamlessly combines old-school soul sensibilities with contemporary production techniques, always incorporating live instrumentation and cinematic soundscapes. His work resonates with fans of classic soul and jazz, as well as those who appreciate forward-thinking musical fusion.
Though not a mainstream household name, Robb Scott has earned a loyal following and critical acclaim for his artistry and integrity. He remains a vital figure in the UK's independent music scene.
